Choiseul is the district in the south west of the island, just next to Soufriere, home of the Pitons. The people of Choiseul have traditionally taking a more indigenous and industrious path, meaning the towns here are known more for their crafts, athleticism, and their fishing. With the Grand Hyatt construction announced, further investment should be seen in the near future.
Choiseaul District is home to a number of attractions including:
– Anse L’Ivrogne Beach, known for being one of the best sites for scuba diving.
– Morne Sion Windmills, 19th century structures used by the British to crush sugar cane
– Pon George (Devil’s Bridge), a 60m bridge spanning over a ravine in the River Dorée area.
– Sabwesha Beach, a black sand beach just north of Choiseaul with views of St Vincent
